Integrated software suite delivers transparent data migration and access for archive, compliance and tiered storage solutions - Arkivio, Inc. announced today that it has completed integration of its ARKIVIO® AUTO-STOR with EMC Celerra FilemoverTM software to extend leading policy and migration lifecycle management capabilities to their mutual customers.
The ARKIVIO® AUTO-STOR software, now integrated with EMC Celerra FileMover, organizes data and storage according to its business value and affords automatic file migration and access based on Celerra FileMover’s ability to uniquely tag files across a tiered storage network. This combination provides a transparent access point for customers to manage their rapidly growing data environment by matching data over its lifecycle to the most appropriate storage resource, regardless of its physical location. The ARKIVIO® AUTO-STOR software addresses this challenge by integrating data and storage discovery, classification, and automated movement across heterogeneous storage devices and networks into one comprehensive solution for Information Lifecycle Management (ILM).
"Arkivio and our customers have benefited from our participation in the EMC Developer Program and we’re pleased to have the opportunity to expand our relationship by integrating our technology with EMC’s latest NAS software product offering," stated Giovanni Paliska, president and CEO of Arkivio. "Our integration with EMC Celerra FileMover creates strong value-add to the channel by enabling EMC Celerra customers to transparently drive data to the proper storage device within a NAS environment as well as to other EMC and heterogeneous storage platforms."
"Arkivio is helping to make EMC Celerra FileMover the industry standard for transparent file migration and access by blending their innovative storage management functionality with our product," added Tom Joyce, senior director, EMC NAS Product Marketing. "The combination of EMC Celerra FileMover with ARKIVIO® AUTO-STOR allows IT administrators to more effectively align storage costs with data value from a centralized view, increasing data availability, reducing meantime to data recovery, shortening backup windows, and significantly lowering administrator workload."
Randy Kerns, Senior Analyst, The Evaluator Group, said, "The dynamic, policy-based data movement that EMC Celerra FileMover and ARKIVIO® AUTO-STOR delivers, will help customers reduce storage management costs by eliminating the need for manual file movement, and lower storage costs by automatically moving less frequently accessed files to less expensive secondary storage. We see this capability as one customers will readily adopt as part of an Information Lifecycle Management offering for NAS."
